The mission for Bedford 2020’s Clean Power Partnership program is to facilitate the adoption of Community Choice Aggregation (CCA) and other clean energy solutions in local communities statewide.
Having observed and worked with 20 different communities participating in the CCA adoption process, Bedford 2020 experienced our own “pilot” in grassroots education, engagement and conscientious-building around CCA.
We have communicated/partnered with a range of community constituencies including elected officials, environmental leaders, sustainability groups, conservation organizations, water organizations, health organizations, garden clubs, religious entities, representatives from low-income constituencies, business leaders, investors and others.
Going forward, our focus is accelerating adoption of CCA and other clean energy solutions such as micro-grids, shared solar, electric vehicles and advanced battery storage in new communities:
- Education and Support: We tailor messaging, tools and support to the needs of the target audience, from citizens who are just starting to learn how the electric grid functions to sophisticated elected officials who are focused on the impact of a given clean energy program on their constituents and the local economy.
- User-Friendly, Targeted Messaging: The mechanics and benefits of CCA and other clean energy projects can be complex. Our focus is to make it as easy as possible to get information and take action.
- Tools and Resources: We offer CCA “how to” presentations, webinars, educational workshops, meetings, and web-based resources.
- Strategic Partnerships: In addition to communication and education about CCA and other clean energy solutions, we facilitate strategic partnerships to help drive adoption and implementation of these projects.
