Reducing Our Community’s Carbon Footprint One Monday at a Time!

Join your neighbors and take an easy pledge to eat meat-free on Mondays during this community-wide campaign.

It’s a simple, once-a-week commitment beginning February 5 through April 23, 2018, to take meat, chicken and fish off our plates and replace them with nutrient-rich fruits, vegetables and whole grains.

Together, we can reduce our carbon footprint, minimize water usage and reduce fuel dependence:

  • The water needs of livestock are huge. An estimated 1,800 to 2,500 gallons of water go into a single pound of beef.
  • On average, about 40 calories of fossil fuel energy go into every calorie of feed lot beef in the U.S.
  • Take the “Eat Low Carbon” quiz!

We will measure how much participation reduces greenhouse gas emissions during the campaign. Join us!
