Even the biggest and busiest home vegetable garden might not provide the entire range of seasonal food you want for your table, and as an advocate for healthy, locally grown food, there’s a lot you can do for local purveyors. If you’re looking for a weekend Farmer Market, daily Farm Stand, or seasonal CSA provider, we’ve got you covered! Check out our local food map and lists below to see where to find local produce in Westchester.

CSA (Community Supported Agriculture)

Community Supported Agriculture is a great way to buy local, seasonal food directly from a farmer. It’s very straight-forward: you buy a share of the farm’s harvest and pick up your produce, flowers, cheese, etc. each week throughout the season. CSA shareholders get introduced to new varieties of vegetables and feel like a member of the farm community. This site has everything you want to know about many CSAs, along with a calendar of Food/Farm events.

Farmers Markets or Buying at the Farm

The recent proliferation of farmers markets and farm stands throughout our area makes it easy to get high quality, local product directly from the farmer. Our local food map and list shows area farms and whether they have a farm stand or offer U-Pick or a CSA. We also provide a list of area farmers markets.  This site is full of pertinent information including a  great list of when to expect specific local produce to be fresh.

The VegOut Newsletter Archive lists past Buy It articles with a local look into where to find local food in our area.
